Answer: Sentence - The crowd was very big. Crowd-Collective noun. Noun A noun is a word that represents a person, thing, concept, or place. Example - 'Amit', house, river etc. A collective noun is a noun that refers to some sort of group or collective. Example of people, animals, things etc.

Answer: Sentence The ship sustained heavy damage. heavy is the adjective. Adjective An adjective is a word that modifies or describes a noun or pronoun. Example - Charming, cruel, tasty, zealous.

Question 8. Fill in the blanks with superlative degree- Mount Everest is the peak of the Himalayas.

Answer: Mount Everest is the highest peak of the Himalayas. Superlative Degree The superlative degree of comparison is mainly used to show which of the nouns in a particular context has the greatest or least degree of the quality mentioned. It is the highest degree of comparison and is used to compare three or more nouns or pronouns. Example-

Answer: Sentence - When I was in delhi I visited the red fort qutab minar raj ghat india gate. Correct Sentence - When I was in Delhi, I visited The Red Fort, Qutabminar, Raj Ghat and India Gate.

  2. The sceneries here are very good.

Answer:

  1. Sentence - He gave me an advice. Correct Sentence - He gave me some advice. Note- 'Advice' is an uncountable noun hence the article 'an' cannot be used before advice.
  2. Sentence - The sceneries here are very good. Here, 'The sceneries' is wrong. The singular and plural of the word scenery is scenery. Hence the word 'sceneries' is wrong. Correct Sentence - The scenery here is very good.

Answer: Importance of language games in English language teaching - Language games are able to help students use and practice the target language in a relaxed way. The learners understand better when they are active. If games are properly designed, they may help in making the teaching-learning process more effective. Games provide language practice in all the four skills, namely, reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Question 18. Read the following passage carefully and frame four questions based on it- Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 at Porbandar in Kathiyawad.
